Nordisk Bergteknik is currently Northern Europe’s biggest turnkey stakeholder in the field of rock handling and foundation engineering. The group is currently made up of around 20 operational companies with strong positions and brands in the regional markets all over Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Navigo formed Nordisk Bergteknik in June 2016 when it acquired Norrbottens Bergteknik AB, which at that time had a turnover of around SEK 100 million. Add-on acquisitions have been made since then, and the group’s turnover exceeded SEK 3.5 billion on a rolling twelve-month basis in the first quarter of 2023, with over 1,100 group employees. Nordisk Bergteknik’s shares were listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in October 2021, and until the listing it was Navigo’s largest hub company. Nordisk Bergteknik is now a strategic stock exchange holding for Navigo, which is still the company’s largest shareholder.

The group includes companies with experience dating back to the 1960s. The business is divided into two complementary segments, Rock and Ground, and includes areas of expertise such as exploration, drilling, blasting, rock reinforcement, concrete rehabilitation, piling, sheet piling and ground reinforcement.

Nordisk Bergteknik is striving to become a strategic partner in selected niche areas. The group specialises in infrastructure, construction contracts, wind farms, mines and natural environments. The major infrastructure projects taking place in both Norway and Sweden constitute the company’s main market and mean that there is stable underlying market growth for the foreseeable future. That said, the industry is fragmented and offers opportunities for Nordisk Bergteknik to both consolidate the market and expand into adjacent niches.
